Sur les événements de mars 1848 à Iaşi. Un nouveau recours au texte documentaire

Despite the many studies dedicated to the moment of March 1848 in Iaşi, its exact inclusion into a typology of actions directed against the central authority remains a difficult task. Especially in historiography, the presence of several points of view concerning a clear definition is, to a large extent, the result of the discourse itself of the majority of those involved in the events. From this point of view, the appeal for a new critical approach of historical sources (including, but not limited to a vast array of consular dispatches and reports) implies the benefic and necessary attempt to re-examine the problem. Trying to identify possible explanations (or new questions) our study focuses on the diplomatic implications of what took place in Moldavia’s capital at the end of March 1848.
